  • October 29, 2023 – Beneficiary Planning Workshop #2 ~ Design Charette to Identify Design Concepts and Map Land Uses

  • September 10, 2023 – Beneficiary Planning Workshop #1 (link to PDF) ~ Purpose, Scope, Process, Timeframe, Visioning and Goals
  • February 7, 2023 – Wākiu CDC Board Meeting
  • February 25-26, 2023 – Wākiu Honuaiākea Process, for the DHHL East Maui Master Plan & Environmental Assessment Project, brought by DHHL and the Edith Kanakaʻole Foundation (EKF) and Group 70 International dba G70

Year of 2022

  • July 16, 2022 – Wākiu CDC Application Drive with flyer and brochure Part II
  • August 20, 2022 – Wākiu CDC Application Drive with flyer and brochure Part III
  • September 24, 2022 – Wākiu CDC Application Drive with flyer and brochure Part IV
  • November 22, 2022 – Wākiu CDC attends the Hawaiian Home Lands Commission Meeting on Maui to introduce and update the work that’s been done.
  • November 28, 2022 – Wākiu CDC meets and begin a Partnership with DHHL and G70 for the Wakiu Master Planning Project.
  • December 30, 2022 – Wākiu CDC website committee announcement of updated website

Year of 2021

  • January 9, 2021 – Wākiu CDC’s first successful Fundraiser selling Portuguese Sausage raising funds for the 501 (c) (3) cost.
  • February 10, 2021 – Waiohuli undivided/MHFRA/Pu`unani joint meeting 5 p.m. via Zoom.
  • February 11, 2021 – Maui/Lana`i Mokupuni Council meeting 5 p.m. via Zoom.
  • February 12, 2021 – Advocacy on HHC agendized items due 4:30 p.m.
  • February 12, 2021 –Deadline for County of Maui feral data-collection grant proposals 4:30 p.m.
  • February 15, 2021 – Newspaper Public announcement of Wakiu CDC with Hanaside News and Flyer for Application Drive Part I.
  • March 26, 2021 – Wakiu CDC’s second successful Fundraiser selling Kalua Pig.
  • June 22, 2021 – Wakiu CDC’s Imi Na’auao’s 5-Summer Workshop sessions (June 22, July 6, July 20, August 2 and August 17).
  • July 2021 – Workshop on the Hawaiian Homes Commission Act and Administration Rules, Chapter 10, 1921 by Blossom Feteirra via Zoom from the Cameron Center.

Year of 2020

  • February 20, 2020 – Registered Wakiu Community Development Corporation with DCCA
  • April 8, 2020 – First Board Meeting on Zoom due to COVID-19 Pandemic
  • May 20, 2020 – Wakiu Community Development Corporation’s Website created by Blaine Fergerstrom
  • September 4, 2020 – Wakiu CDC’s By-Law developed
  • September 19, 2020 – Wakiu CDC’s first East Maui Community Zoom Meeting with Flyers provided.  Presentation to introduce Wakiu CDC, the story behind it and question and answers
  • October 17 – 18, 2020 – Wakiu CDC’s first series of Workshop Sessions (5) to introduce the DHHL’s Maui Island Plan for Wakiu, Hana to Kuka Kuka (talk story) about their concerns.  We shared the Honokawai Master Plan to engage and compare in Hana’s needs. Provided and complete a survey.
  • December 3, 2020 – Wakiu CDC’s radio announcement on KOKO FM (Hana’s personal radio station)
